In vitro fertilization (IVF) / ICSI
In vitro fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproductive treatment in which eggs and sperm are combined in our laboratory to create embryos. These embryos are cultured in the laboratory for several days before one or more are transferred to the woman’s uterus in hopes of achieving pregnancy.
IVF is an option for couples with fertility problems such as blocked fallopian tubes, low sperm quality, or endometriosis.
On the other hand, Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a variant of IVF in which an individual sperm is selected and directly injected into the egg to fertilize it. This method is used when there are fertilization problems due to sperm quality or when previous IVF cycles have been unsuccessful. ICSI increases the chances of fertilization and can be especially useful in cases of severe male infertility.
