Dr. Alex Aldape

I have been working in Reproductive Medicine for over 14 years. I am an active member of the Spanish Society of Fertility (SEF) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). Before coming to Ireland, I completed my training at Vall d'Hebron University Hospital and worked in Barcelona at the Institut Marquès. While working at Institut Marquès, I was responsible for the pharmacy and co-responsible for national and international donor programs, achieving high success rates (over 50%) with high-complexity techniques (IVF, ICSI, PGTA), and egg donation cycles.

In 2017, I relocated to Ireland and started as Clinical Director at SIMS IVF Cork. I promoted the egg donation program without the need to travel abroad, with a pregnancy rate exceeding 60%. I also developed a new program for patients with low ovarian reserve following the POSEIDON group classification and pioneered DuoStim protocols in Ireland.

In 2020, I became Medical Director and Responsible Person at Repromed Galway, achieving not only high success rates with both low and high complexity techniques but also optimizing the time-to-treatment KPI and improving the success rate of fresh and frozen embryo transfers. I also led the transition from paper records to a "paperless clinic".

In 2022, I started at SIMS IVF as Clinical Director and then as Group Medical Director since April 2023, achieving significant leadership and commitment with the medical team by working on standardizing medical practices across the organization's 6 clinics/locations.
